I just talked with my coach and he said my performance on the bike and run were good, considering my weight and that I've only been training for the past two months after taking a year off, but he said my swim was "amazing". He said his own swim time for that distance is about 25 minutes, so he fully expects me to catch up to him within six months. That wouldn't be too bad, considering he's been doing this for seven years and is a guru on all things triathlon.

But yes, I can't wait to lose 20-30 lbs. Hopefully I can lose that much this winter. I'm looking forward to having a body like this guy, only without the strange hole in the chest:

We enjoyed your report and photos Josh and Brynn! Mom says you are looking great and says, "Think what he will do when he looses another 25 pounds!" I'm impressed with your mile swim time...and even with the rough start. My best mile time ever in a pool was 31:30 or so. Now I don't time myself, but I'm lucky if I can make 35:30. Would it be wrong to say that with respect to your placement in each event, you are a better swimmer than biker and runner?

We'd like to come to your first tri when you weigh 180 or less.
